Job Details

The OT/ICS Infrastructure Specialist is critical in providing timely information, expertise, support, troubleshooting, and maintenance on servers, networks, and IT systems at local pipeline control stations.

This position will be based onsite in Prince George, BC and relocation will be required.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Support:

    Ensure control systems are in compliance with client specifications, policies, industry standards, and vendor specific requirements for all existing and new equipment.

  • Perform break-fixes on control systems, Ethernet network workstations, server platforms, and any additional network and control system applications.

  • Support the development, implementation, and management of preventative maintenance practices for operating systems and hardware.

  • Identify and investigate areas that may require system solutions or improvements.

  • Ensure backups of critical control system network equipment are maintained and up to date.

  • Follow standards and best practices with respect to the delivery and maintenance of systems.

  • Create and maintain the knowledge repository of network topology at all compressor facilities including network diagrams, processes, and procedures.

  • Management of Change (MOC):

    Ensure that the OT model regarding change management is followed.

  • Actively participate in any control system related changes and own the control system IT components.

  • Assist in the development, integration, implementation, and compliance of MOC policies as they relate to equipment and software systems.


  • Project Support:

    Participate in the expansion and maintenance capital projects for all control system related projects.

  • Assist the project team with building, testing and deployment of a virtualized human machine interface (HMI) solution.

  • Recommend preferred solutions with alternatives and complete cost / benefit analysis.

  • Create project schedules and plans and identify milestones in conjunction with the business requirements.

  • As a senior resource, lead and / or participate in the analysis, configuration, modification, testing, implementation, documentation, and training of system functionalities.

 

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 10+ years of directly related work experience.

  • Must have CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft certifications.

  • Experience with supporting Rockwell FactoryTalk control system applications.

  • Experience operating in a test lab environment with a focus on stability testing of security patches, antivirus updates, and application functional patches on HMI platforms.

  • Previous SCADA/HMI and ICS experience including architecture, risk assessment and change management processes.

  • Strong PC / Server software and hardware troubleshooting skills with experience in backup, disaster, and recovering procedures.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills using Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook with a working knowledge of VMware tools, virtual environments, Windows server 2012/2016/2019, Windows 7/10, Cisco switches, and UPS and NAS systems.

  • Ability to work independently and / or in a team on a variety of projects with limited supervision.

  • Ability to manage and adapt to multiple priorities and feedback from field personnel.

  • The following would be considered as assets:

  • Knowledge of control systems found in gas compressor stations and gas storage.

  • Knowledge of General Electric (GE) Cimplicity, GE Proficy, and Aveva Wonderware.
