Job Details

The SCADA Engineer/Analyst maintains and enhances live Client SCADA systems in support of control center operations and related business areas. They design, migrate, implement, support, integrate, upgrade, program, test and commission client SCADA systems.

Work will be hybrid; 3 days/week on site and 2 days/week remote.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and integrate Aveva SCADA control system for Client gas pipeline and distribution operations.

  • Perform requirements evaluation, infrastructure evaluation, and design input for setting up a new SCADA system environment.

  • Establish uniform display representations to monitor and control pipeline systems/LDCs, employing consistent HMI designs and visualization techniques.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology and applications teams to design, develop, and support data interfaces and exchanges.

  • Carry out point-to-point validations (lineout) with field operations and gas control personnel.

  • Provide consulting services for the maintenance, enhancement and integration of SCADA system functionality.

  • Learn and build expertise in Client systems, including SCADA and automation systems (CygNet, Wonderware, OASyS).

  • Play a key role in the maintenance of live Client SCADA production and development application environments by providing technical support, troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, application testing and configuration changes.

  • Proactively engage with Client end users, field, various departments, management, etc.

  • Develop and demonstrate an understanding of SCADA best practices, standards, and operating procedures.

  • Demonstrate commitment to the Dexcent and Client teams’ success.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation as per Dexcent and Client standards.

  • Comply with all relevant change management procedures.

  • Proactively support the Dexcent safety program and initiatives; maintaining compliance with all safety policies and procedures (including Client site specific programs), and ensuring utilization of safe work practices on Client sites and in the office.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and communication style with Clients, vendors and team members in all circumstances.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by Dexcent or Client Supervisor.

 

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years in SCADA and Control Systems implementation, support, integration, control systems programming, testing, display design, and commissioning.

  • Hands-on experience with Aveva OASyS 2018 and/or Aveva Enterprise 2021 is a must.

  • Experience implementing and supporting control systems for automation, process monitoring, or pipeline control.

  • A Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Experience supporting, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning Operational Technology & SCADA projects.

  • High level of comfort using interactive tools (Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook, Slack, One Drive, Remote Desktop, ticketing systems, APS systems).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong customer service, organization and time management skills.

  • Prior work experience in the Gas Pipeline or Utilities industry.
