Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support and maintain critical process control applications. This role requires expertise in AVEVA PI, DynAMo alarm management software, and SQL (for query and troubleshooting, not development). The ideal candidate is an intermediate to senior-level professional who can integrate with minimal training and a brief handover period. This is a hybrid role and the individual will be required to work between Calgary and Fort McMurray, AB.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administration and support for AVEVA PI, including PI System administration, Alarm & Events, OPC configurations, and integrations with other systems.
Maintain and optimize the DynAMo alarm management software, ensuring reliability.
Utilize SQL for troubleshooting and query execution (without development responsibilities).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operation of process control applications.
Monitor and enhance system performance, ensuring alignment with business and operational requirements.
Provide documentation, training, and guidance as needed to stakeholders.
Familiarity with Emerson DeltaV Control System would be beneficial.
Familiarity with Honeywell UniSim OTS would be beneficial.
Candidate Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in application engineering, process control, or related fields.
Strong hands-on experience with AVEVA PI System administration and related tools.
Experience in industrial automation, DCS, SCADA, or process control systems.
Knowledge of network configurations and cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
Previous experience working in oil & gas, manufacturing, or other industrial sectors.
Knowledge of DynAMo alarm management software.
Familiarity with Emerson DeltaV Control System.
Competency in SQL, specifically for querying and troubleshooting.
Understanding of OPC and Alarm & Events systems.
Experience with Honeywell UniSim OTS is a strong asset.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
