Job Details
The HMI Developer creates custom High Performance user interface designs aligned with client specifications. They work collaboratively with the client and Dexcent team members to meet project scope and timelines.
This position may be based out of Edmonton, AB, Calgary, AB or Houston, TX. Work will primarily be remote, with visits to client sites in person and travel as needed.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop High Performance HMI displays for SCADA systems (OASyS)
Liaise with clients to develop and improve HMI display specifications and design guides
Design, create and edit custom bitmaps/images to be used in High Performance Interfaces
Conduct testing and participate in all testing phases (FAT, SAT, CAT)
Report on project testing progress and resolve or escalate issues promptly
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve issues with design/code
Maintain appearance and back-end code of all interfaces to comply with defined standards.
Migrate displays from one SCADA system to another, following the client/project design guide
Prepare and maintain documentation as per project requirements, Dexcent and client standards
Comply with all relevant change management procedures
Candidate Qualifications:
2+ years of related SCADA experience (OASyS)
Bachelor degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, graphic design, or equivalent combination of education and experience
.NET language knowledge, both in writing and debugging
Experienced in graphics design for icon and bitmap creation
Knowledge of SQL database interaction
Competent with MS Office
File structure knowledge (JSON, XML, INI)
Advanced Windows abilities (working with Services, Active Directory, File Structure permissions, and shares)
Powershell and Command Line skills
High level of comfort using interactive tools (Teams, Sharpoint, Outlook, Slack, One Drive, Remote Desktop)
Understanding of C++ language and Python language, both in writing and debugging
Technical writing/documentation talents (end-user documentation, reports, flow diagrams, as-built drawings, etc.)
Superior OASyS technical skills
