Job Details
The Analyst provides a crucial link between Dexcent clients and our team of developers ensuring the end product is satisfactory to all parties. They work with clients to identify and execute solutions for digital security data challenges. They gather data from multiple sources, clean data and help clients create or update databases for analysis and reporting. They assist clients by building a single source of truth and empower them to make informed decisions about their IDS assets.
Work location is flexible in Canada/USA. Work will primarily be remote, with visits to client sites in person and travel as needed.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Meeting with clients and user groups to gather business requirements and provide status updates.
Analyzing client business requirements and transferring them into detailed functional specifications, ensuring a shared understanding of goals and requirements.
Creating comprehensive test scripts.
Conducting thorough positive and negative tests with developers and coordinating client testing.
Documenting system changes including client advisory notifications, product bulletins and user manuals.
Conducting application analysis and system design.
Preparation and presentation of management level reports.
Developing or working to project designs, work plans, budgets, and schedules.
Delivering training sessions and assessing their effectiveness.
Reporting on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team.
Communicating key insights and findings to the product team.
Proactively supporting the Dexcent safety program and initiatives; maintaining compliance with all safety policies and procedures (including client site specific programs), and ensuring utilization of safe work practices on client sites and in the office.
Displaying a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement; suggesting product improvements, sales growth opportunities, cost savings options and work environment improvements.
May attend association events, seminars and meetings to promote Dexcent and maintain a high profile in the industry.
Maintaining a positive attitude and communication style with clients, vendors and team members in all circumstances.
Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager or Client Supervisor.
Candidate Qualifications:
A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
Proven experience in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role.
Experience in an industrial process environment is critical.
Relevant industry experience and IT Project experience; with a focus on integrating multiple systems across an organization.
Experience in a development environment, with desktop, client/server, and Internet applications and architectures.
History of continuing professional development and training in related technologies and soft skills is an asset.
Intermediate Power BI experience or related data analytics and visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, Spotfire.
Experience in Wenco, OSI PI and custom databases, or similar, would be beneficial.
Must be bright and intelligent; deal with concepts and complexity comfortably; described as intellectually sharp, capable, and agile.
Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills, enabling effective communication with clients, employees, vendors and owners.
Skilled in preparing and presenting highly technical information in a format relatable to all audiences from end-users to executives.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills: an inquisitive and creative thinker who is able to work through different approaches solve problems.
Extremely professional with high integrity, ethics, confidentiality and a strong work ethic.
Strong organization, and time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, priority-changing environment while maintaining confidence and a professional demeanor.
Ability to work both within a team, and independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of software development methodologies.
